Cookies and trackers policy
This policy is governed by French law. This English text is an adaptation; if it differs from the French version, the French version prevails.
1. In short
Sellom uses no advertising cookies and no behavioural analytics tool. Audience measurement is done with Plausible, without cookies. The only cookies set are needed for the site to work. They do not require your consent.
2. The rules
A cookie is a small file placed on your device. Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act requires prior consent for any tracker that is not necessary for the service. Strictly necessary trackers are exempt.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| sellom_token | Keeps you signed in to your account | 30 days |
| sellom_return_to | Takes you back to the right page after the sign-in link | 15 minutes |
| sellom_claim_* | Links your free test to your account | 48 hours |
| sellom_theme | Remembers the light or dark theme you chose | 180 days |
| sellom_plan_override | Tool reserved for internal test accounts; ignored for every other account | 30 days |
These cookies are set by sellom.io. None is read by a third party.
Payment page
When you pay, you leave sellom.io for the Stripe Checkout page. Stripe sets its own cookies there, needed for payment and fraud prevention. They fall under Stripe’s policy, not Sellom’s.
Browser memory
Some information is kept in your browser. Unlike a cookie, it is not sent with every request. It is used for the site to work and does not require your consent.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| sellom_link | Keeps the sign-in link while you confirm it, so that a reload does not lose it | 30 minutes at most, erased when the tab is closed |
| sellom_free_scan_resume | Finds your free test in progress again: domain, language, test identifier | erased when the tab is closed |
| sellom_claim_sent_* | Avoids asking you again for the email address given during a test | erased when the tab is closed |
| sellom_checkout_return | Takes you back to the payment page after sign-in | erased when the tab is closed |
| sellom_scan_resume | Finds the measurement in progress again: identifier, domain, start time | erased when the measurement ends; ignored after 2 hours, then erased on the next visit |
4. Audience measurement without cookies
| Tool | How it works | Cookie |
|---|---|---|
| Plausible Analytics, self-hosted | Counts visits and a few actions, with no persistent identifier, no tracking across sites, and no tested domain or test identifier. OVH server in France. | None |
Plausible sets no cookie and writes nothing to your device. No consent is therefore required.
To count unique visitors, Plausible computes a hashed daily identifier from the IP address and the browser. That identifier is not kept beyond 24 hours.
5. Tools not used
Sellom uses neither Microsoft Clarity, nor Google Analytics, nor Google Tag Manager, nor any advertising pixel. If such a tool were ever added, it would be enabled only after your explicit agreement, and this page would be updated first.
6. Your choices
You can delete cookies in your browser settings. Without the sign-in cookie, you will have to sign in again.
